SSC Photo & Signature Requirements 2026

Important Update: SSC has changed its application process. Photos are now captured live via webcam/mobile camera — you no longer upload a scanned photo file.

What Changed?

SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD, and other exams now use live photograph capture:

• No scanned photo upload for the photograph
• Live webcam/mobile capture during application
• Signature still needs to be uploaded as a scanned file

Live Photo Capture Requirements

• Well-lit area with plain background
• Face the camera directly, look straight, camera at eye level
• No caps, masks, or spectacles/glasses

Signature Upload Specifications (Still Required)

• Dimensions: 4.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height)
• File Size: 10 KB to 20 KB
• Format: JPEG / JPG only
• Method: Sign on white paper using black ink pen
